About athaare
Our name comes from the Arabic root "A-th-r," which can mean "remnants/traces,” or "what is left behind" This name reflects henna as a substance that ‘leaves behind’ pigment/stain on the skin and henna as a tradition that has been ‘left behind’ across regions and for generations.
Not just an accessory, but a companion and a ritual that enriches everyday moments. We are inspired to reground ourselves and the henna we love in whimsy, tenderness, intimacy, slowness, and communal traditions —and invite you to do the same.
At Athaare, henna is an ode to and a means of creative, cultural, and connective practice
Inviting you to Athaare, to (y)our henna garden.
Our brand pillars
Aside from its overt creative and cultural roots, Athaare deeply believes that henna is a form of connection: with ourselves, with others, with our creativity, and with our culture. In alignment with this, Athaare engages in learning and connection-based initiatives, including workshops and community events, as well as collaborating with local businesses, organizations, and fellow artisans.
